About EECRsteel 2011

The steel branch plays an important role in global industrial energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Because of the dynamic growth of energy prices and the commitment of governments to decrease CO2 emissions, the reduction of specific energy consumption is a top priority for steel companies.

The objective of the 1st International Conference and Exhibition on Energy Efficiency and CO2 Reduction in the Steel Industry (EECRsteel 2011) is to provide an overview on state-of-the-art developments in progress, latest results and outlook on this important issue.

Scope and Topics

Experts from steel companies and plant manufacturers, suppliers of production and controlling equipment, energy suppliers, environment equipment suppliers, subcontractors, R&D organisations, universities, and consulting companies are invited to announce and deliver papers dealing with:

•  decreasing specific energy consumption of primary steel technologies (ore agglomeration, sintering, iron making, steelmaking)
•  increase of energy efficiency in steel processing casting (hot and cold rolling, coating, etc.)
•  utilization of waste heat in production
•  reducing CO2 emission in conventional steel technologies
•  alternative, innovative, breakthrough technologies for the reduction of CO2 emission in the steel industry
•  emission trading
•  competitiveness and reduction of CO2 emission

The Congress will provide a forum for best practice and state-of-the-art technology. It will also take a look at developments in the foreseeable future.
